Marketplace

Ads are visible to all visitors to the site but may only be placed by members of the Society

Please read the rules before placing or responding to an advertisement.

Regional reps are on hand to help source stock, please notify your rep of stock for sale or wanted along with rams that are available for hire.

Marketplace Rules
  1. Only fully paid-up Members of the OSS, including Associate Members may place Marketplace Adverts on the Society Website.
  2. The advertiser must be the registered owner of the animal/s being offered for sale or hire.
  3. Stock being offered for sale/hire must be Registered or Birth Notified in the National Flock-book or be the offspring of fully Registered stock and therefore entitled to be registered, and hence, will be Registered or Birth Notified prior to sale. Adverts for lambs that have yet to be registered or birth notified must contain the OSS numbers of their sire and dam.
  4. Lambs must already be on the ground before being advertised for sale. No pre-sales adverts permitted.
  5. All adverts must contain at least one recent clear image of the animal being offered for sale or hire and must include OSS number, current height, and any other relevant information.
  6. Ram adverts should be one listing per animal. No multi-ads.
  7. Flock dispersal adverts can only be placed for genuine cases of flock dispersal of more than 10 animals.
  8. Flock dispersal adverts must contain the OSS number, current height and any other relevant information of all animals being offered for sale, a clear photo containing as many of the animals as possible must be included as well.

  9. All information provided must be an accurate and honest description of the stock that is being advertised.
  10. Please include your OSS Membership number and Region in all adverts.
  11. Sales and wanted adverts will automatically expire two months from the date of listing.
  12. Ram hire adverts will expire 12 months from the date of listing.
  13. All adverts are subject to approval by the OSS, whose decision is final.
  14. The OSS reserves the right to refuse or remove adverts without notice, should they feel that they are not in the best interest of Members or the Society.
